The Legend of Jatayu

According to the Ramayana, Jatayu was a noble and courageous eagle who witnessed Ravana abducting Sita. Despite his old age, Jatayu fought valiantly to rescue her. During the battle, Ravana severed one of Jatayu's wings, causing him to fall onto the rocky hill now known as Jatayupara.
